Building a Better Xperience with .NET

 Saturday, March 01, 2008

Many of you may know that I have been recording "How Do I" videos for Microsoft Expression products for a while.  Recently a new Web site has been created by Microsoft focusing on the Expression Community.

There are sections for blogs, news and events.  There is a section for videos laid out more similarly to WindowsClient.net.  There is a gallery of work that not only demonstrates work done with the Expression suite of products, but also some creative inspiration sites!  And needless to say, there is a forum section for questions and answers.

If you do any work with the Expression products or are interested in getting started, be sure to check it out!  You can find the new site at http://expression.microsoft.com.

I've been watching these videos and although they are good, they leave out something every time. For example, Todd gives a video on CSS with Expression Web. He shows positioning, header with image, 2 colums. BUT, at the end he goes straight to the CSS templates instead of showing how to apply the CSS header/colum to all your other pages. I need to make a standard CSS with header (including image, navigation tab bar, and then have dynamic content in the middle. Same CSS for every page, just different content in the middle.

I'm pretty new to this so I was hoping the video would go all the way!

I guess I'll wait for the next in the series. Thanks for the info that I have taken from the videos Todd!

Hi Todd,
I just wanted to thank you for your work on the expression videos. They are wonderful. I am enjoying watching every one of them. You are a great instructor!

Todd,
I started using Expression this weekend and found your videos. I "tracked you down" just to say 'thank you'. These videos are some of the best I've seen on any topic. They're clear and concise and have really helped me grasp some basic concepts in both Expression and Xaml.

Thank you again!
Bill
